President Warren G. Hardings Cabinet
Found frames, scrap wood, paint, fabric, brass hardware
48” H (top open) x 49.5” W x 16” D
Infamous for his mysterious death while in office, and scandalized posthumously by the Teapot Dome affair, President Harding invited Andrew Mellon, Charles Evans Hughes, and Herbert Hoover into his administration, while stocking his cabinet at home with bootleg liquor during the Prohibition. This bar is constructed of ornate picture frames, painted black and lined with red silk to resemble a coffin.
